If you need repairs, we handle them here in Antigonish, which means you don’t have to pay for gas to drive all the way to Halifax or pay for shipping to send the computer back to some central service centre. If, for some reason, we have to ship your computer away, we back up your data before it goes out, and restore it when it comes back, so you won’t lose a single picture, email, or document.
#2 – Local Support
If you have a question, just call us and we’ll make sure you get the right answer as fast as possible. You won’t wait on hold forever to talk to a person, and you won’t end up talking to someone in a call centre who just wants to get you off the line as quickly as possible.
#3 – High Quality Components
We’ve been fixing, building and working with computers for almost 35 years, and we only sell items that we would buy ourselves or recommend to our family and friends. Our towers are custom built using only parts that will give you the most reliable service and longest life.
#4 – Full Testing
You might be shocked, but there’s a very good chance your computer was never tested before you got it. Most manufacturer’s test one out every thousand computers at the factory so there’s a very good chance your computer was assembled and shipped with no testing at all. It’s also very likely that your computer was dropped during shipping, so it’s possible that parts on your brand new computer are starting to fail when you pick it up (though you may not notice for months). We run 24 hours of the toughest hardware tests your computer will ever face to make sure you won’t have problems with it when you get it home.
#5 – Longer Warranty
Most computer stores sell you a computer with a one year warranty (sometimes even shorter). You deserve longer than that, so at Computer Connection, your new tower comes with a two year warranty on the tower itself and three years on the hard drive. Why longer on the hard drive? Because your hard drive is the most likely part to fail, and we want to protect your from repair bills for as long as possible. And our warranty is better – unlike most places that charge you extra to save your data or reinstall Windows, we cover the cost of backing up your data, re-installing Windows and restoring your data should your hardware fail and require a Windows reinstall.
#6 – One Hour of Training
Every computer from us comes with a complimentary hour of training. We’ll go over your new laptop with you and answer any questions you might have. (And of course, if you have questions in the future, we’re just a phone call away.)
#7 – One Full Year of Anti-Virus Protection
You get a full one year subscription to the best anti-virus available. Most places try to sell you a bare bones computer, and one of the corners they cut is the anti-virus. They install a 30 day demo, and then try to upsell you to a full version at the cash register. We don’t think that’s right.
#8 A Real Computer-Grade Surge Protector
Computers that don’t have surge protectors are 90% more like to have problems than ones that do, so you get a real, computer grade surge protector with your new computer. (And not one of those silly power bars a lot of places try to pawn off as surge protectors).
#9 – Windows DVD
Most places make you create your own recovery media. And if you forget, then you’re out of luck if your Windows needs re-installing. But when you purchase a tower from Computer Connection, we include the Windows media with your computer, no extra charge.
#10 – Maximum performance
Here’s a dirty little secret. When manufacturers build a computer, they setup Windows with zero regard for performance. And they keep using the same setup for every new computer in that model line, ignoring the fact that newer drivers come out regularly and would make your computer faster and more reliable. At Computer Connection, your computer gets the most recent drivers, plus we hand tune it to make sure you are getting the best performance possible. (It might shock you, but we’ve had people bring in brand new computers and we still speed them up by 40% to 70% by using the same tune-ups you get for free with your new computer.)
#11 – No Hidden Costs
We hate hidden fees when we buy something, so they don’t exist here. Our prices include everything but the HST. I had a fellow come in a little while ago who told me that his friend had gone to a box store to buy a computer. The sticker price was $399, but by the time he had finished paying for setup, anti-virus software, etc., the price was $798. And it still only came with a one year warranty.
When you buy a computer from us, it’s ready to plug in and use. Windows is completely setup and updated, your anti-virus is installed and properly configured, all your drivers are up to date, plus we’ve made sure it’s running as fast as possible (just like you get with our Gold Service package).
